UH, Texas A&M top 25 basketball programs play in charity exhibition Oct. 27 at Fertitta Center

HOUSTON – In a charity exhibition basketball game pitting two Top 25 programs, No. 4 UH hosts No. 13 Texas A&M on Oct. 27 at Fertitta Center in Houston.

The game benefits Hurricane Beryl relief.

This is the first matchup between the programs in the preseason with both schools nationally ranked.

UH, coached by Kelvin Sampson, finished 32-5 last season and third ranked overall.

Texas A&M, coached by Buzz Williams, finished 21-15 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament.

They met last December during The Halal Guys College Basketball Showcase as UH won 70-66.

A portion of proceeds from the game will be donated to the Greater Houston Disaster Alliance Hurricane Beryl Recovery Fund. The fund will benefit individuals affected by the storm by providing financial assistance and house repair. As of Oct. 2, the fund has raised close to $6 million to benefit residents of Fort Bend, Harris, Montgomery and Waller counties.

Tickets for the matchup can be purchased at the University of Houston athletics website.
