HOUSTON – Former Indianapolis Colts running back Deon Jackson worked out for the Texans on Friday, according to league sources.
Jackson wasn’t immediately signed to a contract. The Texans worked out veteran offensive lineman Cameron Erving earlier this week, per a source, and he hasn’t been signed.
Jackson, 25, has also played for the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants. Jackson (5-foot-11, 218 pounds) has rushed for 283 career yards and two touchdowns with 35 receptions for 223 yards and one score.
Jackson played collegiately at Duke, going undrafted in 2021 after rushing for 2,267 yards and 18 touchdowns in college.
Jackson has run the 40-yard dash in 4.42 seconds.
Claimed off waivers from the Browns by the Giants last fall, he was signed to a reserve-future deal this offseason before being waived in May.
